The Petition
On September 24, the youth of BC are biking to Victoria to deliver a petition calling for real action on climate change. We are calling for:
- Investing in major expansion of public transit and the development of energy-efficient, healthy communities;
- Extending application of the carbon tax to all sources of emissions and committing to a continued schedule of annual increases in the tax after 2012;
- Rejecting BC’s participation in expansion of fossil fuel exports, including the proposed Enbridge pipeline to BC's north coast, increased oil tanker traffic off our south coast, and expanded coal exports.
