Schedule
You'll get to know a really inspiring, diverse group of people, and get to bike for a better future. Here's what our schedule looks like:
7:30 - Meet at the Scott Road sky train station in Surrey; it's really easy to get your bike on the train on the way. Once we're there, we'll have a brief orientation to prepare for the ride and get to know the group.
7:45 - We depart on our first leg of the journey! We'll be biking mostly along River Road. It's about two and half hours to Tsawwassen.
11:00 - We are loaded onto the ferry and departing. Lunch will not be provided - but we need you to keep your energy up! So make sure you've got something packed or some money to buy food on the ferry
12:35 - Our ferry arrives at Swartz Bay and we are greeted by our Victoria-based riders! We leave the Swartz Bay ferry terminal shortly after, and head off on the Galloping Goose trail towards the Legislature.
2:00 - We take a snack pit stop along the way. Bring snacks (or money to buy some).
3:30 - We arrive at the Legislature! We are met by Victoria supporters and government officials. There will be speeches, music, and the official delivery of the petition. We make a lot of noise to say 'NO' to more pipelines and 'YES' to a sustainable future.
4:30 - We load our bikes onto the Uhaul, and hop on public transit back to Swartz Bay.
6:00 - Our ferry leaves back home.
7:30 - We arrive at Tsawwassen. We hop on transit home. Our Uhaul does one bike drop off at Canada line station and one drop off at a sky train, so we don't need to get dozens of bikes onto the bus from the ferry, but can get them home.
And that's it! We really hope you will be able to join us. We are the delegates bringing our own voice for climate action, but also bringing with us the support of thousands more British Columbians who signed the petition and are with us in spirit.
